A research project devoted to uncovering and archiving the history of Performance Art in Wales.

If you have any information on performance in Wales that could be of use to the project, please get in touch!
Whether you are an artist who has made performance work in Wales, or an audience member who once witnessed a performance (voluntarily or involuntarily!), we would be pleased to hear from you.
Any material will be of interest - from actual pieces of documentation to vague memories of events caught out of the corner of one's eye.

What's Welsh for Performance? / Beth yw 'Performance' yn Gymraeg? Commission Fund
The 'What's Welsh for Performance? / Beth yw 'Performance' yn Gymraeg?' Commission Fund supports the development of new performance work by Wales-based artists.
Commission 2: Pitch - Radio Cardiff (2011-12)
For the next three months (November 2011 - February 2012)What's Welsh for Performance? is supporting Pitch at Radio Cardiff!
Pitch is a weekly arts and culture programme broadcast on Tuesday mornings from 10am - 11am on Radio Cardiff 98.7FM and available to those outside Cardiff as a live webcast on http://www.radiocardiff.org. 
It is archived here Culture Colony.
Pitch is produced and presented by Richard Huw Morgan and John Rowley / 'good cop bad cop'.

Commission 1: Perfformiad (2011)
The first three commissions went to Kathryn Ashill, Iwan Morgan and Samuel Hasler. The three artists developed three new works over three days, presented as Perfformiad, at Chapter Arts Centre on 27 - 29 April 2011.

Kathryn Ashill: Threshold (A Series of Uncertainties)
Duration: 2 Hours. People are invited to carry the artist across the threshold of Chapter Arts Centre. Each participant receives a peck on the cheek after crossing the main entrance with her in their arms.

Kathryn Ashill: Curiad/Beat (A Series of Uncertainties)
Duration: 5 Hours. No Break. Participants were invited to find the artist's heartbeat using a stethoscope.

Kathryn Ashill: Home is where the heart Is (A Series of Uncertainties)
Duration: 5 Hours, 44 mins. No Break. Repetitively building cardboard shelters which housed red hearts.
